ABSTRACT

La pandemia de la COVID-19 obligó a las personas y entidades a adoptar medidas para protegerse de su contagio recurriendo al uso de medios digitales, como se suscitó en la banca. Esta investigación tuvo como propósito determinar la relación entre la calidad de servicio de la banca móvil y la lealtad del consumidor en el Perú. La metodología fue de enfoque mixto. En el aspecto cuantitativo, con una muestra de 383 usuarios de entidades bancarias en Comas, Lima, se aplicó una encuesta con una confiabilidad del instrumento de 0,912. En el aspecto cualitativo, se entrevistó a siete expertos cuyas opiniones fueron contrastadas con la información teórica desarrollada. Los resultados de la encuesta indicaron que existe una correlación con una posición preferente con tendencia a ser fuerte entre las variables de estudio (rho de Spearman de 0,796). Asimismo, los expertos indicaron que la banca móvil ha logrado fidelizar a la mayoría de los usuarios por la rapidez y seguridad del servicio. Como conclusión, se evidenció que existe una relación preferente con tendencia a ser fuerte entre las variables objeto de estudio, basada en una relativa confianza y seguridad del usuario, por lo que es necesario ofrecer servicios de calidad usando diversos mecanismos de comunicación.Alternate :The Covid-19 pandemic forced people and entities to adopt measures to protect themselves from contagion by resorting to the use of digital media, as was the case in banking. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between the quality of mobile banking service and consumer loyalty in Peru. The methodology was mixed approach. In the quantitative aspect, with a sample of 383 users of banking entities in Comas, Lima, a survey was applied, with a reliability of the instrument of 0.912. In the qualitative aspect, seven experts were interviewed whose opinions were contrasted with the theoretical information developed. The results of the survey indicated that there is a correlation with a preferred position with a tendency to be strong among the study variables (Spearman's Rho of 0.796). Likewise, the experts indicated that mobile banking has managed to retain the majority of users due to the speed and security of the service. In conclusion, it was evidenced that there is a preferential relationship with a tendency to be strong between the variables under study, based on a relative trust and security of the user, making it necessary to offer quality services using various communication mechanisms.

ABSTRACT

The lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic inherently changed people's lifestyles. Forty-eight days of isolation led to worsening physical fitness in addition to the development of other unhealthy habits. The aim of this study was to describe sport-related injuries in the active general population. Physical therapy centres and sports medicine clinics were contacted via e-mail, seeking patients who had sustained an injury during or immediately (up to two weeks) after the lockdown. Patients who agreed to participate completed an online survey that followed the International Olympic Committee Statement. The questionnaire focused on physical exercise habits, type of injury, location and tissue affected. A total of 51 females and 67 males (30.5, SD = 8.8 years) participated in the study. Eighty percent of the participants performed aerobic training sessions, while the rest dedicated their workouts to strength training. Two in every three injuries were located in the lower limbs, and 80% affected the musculoskeletal tissue. Of all the injuries recorded, 67% occurred during the first week after lockdown. The number of aerobic exercise sessions was positively correlated with lower limb injuries (χ2 = 17.12, p < 0.05). Exercise habits should be considered when planning to return to a sport after a period of confinement to avoid injury.

ABSTRACT

Participation of pregnant women in clinical trials entails challenges mainly related to concerns about the risks for fetuses. We undertook a qualitative study from June to October 2020 to assess the acceptability of participating in COVID-19 clinical trials among pregnant women in Spain. Phenomenology and grounded theory were used as methodological approaches. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 24 pregnant women and six healthcare providers. Women were unsure if pregnancy was a risk factor to acquire the infection or to develop severe disease and expressed the limited information they had received, which led to uncertainties and emotional suffering. They had concerns regarding participation in clinical trials on COVID-19, regardless of the drug under study. Healthcare providers alluded to the importance of involving pregnant women's relatives at the recruitment visit of the clinical trial. These findings may be useful to facilitate pregnant women's participation in clinical trials.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: We have previously reported an association between high red blood cell distribution width (RDW) and mortality in septic and brain infarction patients. However, no association between RDW and mortality in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients has been reported so far; thus, the objective of this study was to determine if that association exists. METHODS: Prospective and observational study carried out in 8 Intensive Care Units from 6 hospitals of Canary Islands (Spain) including COVID-19 patients. We recorded RDW at ICU admission and 30-day survival. RESULTS: We found that patients who did not survive (n=25) compared to surviving patients (n=118) were older (p=0.004), showed higher RDW (p=0.001), urea (p<0.001), APACHE-II (p<0.001) and SOFA (p<0.001), and lower platelet count (p=0.007) and pH (p=0.008). Multiple binomial logistic regression analysis showed that RDW was associated with 30-day mortality after controlling for: SOFA and age (OR=1.659; 95% CI=1.130-2.434; p=0.01); APACHE-II and platelet count (OR=2.062; 95% CI=1.359-3.129; p=0.001); and pH and urea (OR=1.797; 95% CI=1.250-2.582; p=0.002). The area under the curve (AUC) of RDW for mortality prediction was of 71% (95% CI=63-78%; p<0.001). We did not find significant differences in the predictive capacity between RDW and SOFA (p=0.66) or between RDW and APACHE-II (p=0.12). CONCLUSIONS: Our study provides new information regarding the ability to predict mortality in patients with COVID-19. There is an association between high RDW and mortality. RDW has a good performance to predict 30-day mortality, similar to other severity scores (such as APACHE II and SOFA) but easier and faster to obtain.
